Chihuahua - Skippy - Small - Young - Male - Dog
Skippy is a Chihuahua mix who seems to fancy himself as a ladies’ man. He loves women but is pretty apprehensive about men. Skippy was abused. Maybe not physically, but certainly he was abused emotionally. Not for anything that he did, but because he grew too big! A grandmother purchased Skippy as a puppy for her granddaughter from a breeder (and I use that term LOOSELY) who said he was an apple-head Chihuahua who would weigh 4 pounds when grown. Skippy is not a purebred and weighs 12 pounds as an adult. Well, the granddaughter didn’t want him because he is too big (guess she thinks she is Paris Hilton and needs a dog to carry in her purse). Dogs are NOT ACCESSARIES!! So after two years he was dumped by the grandparents into rescue. Skippy is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped, and crate trained. He is still a little shy with strangers, but as soon as he warms up he becomes so playful and animated it’s hard to believe he is the same dog who came to us all those months ago! He just needs someone to love him for who he is and that shouldn’t be hard to do.
